I've never had an issue with it pulling off paint except when the paint job wasn't properly prepped.I use the white variety to add an extra seal around window air conditioners and it works great for the whole season.I use it to tape HVAC filters to box fans for frugal air "purifiers." Don't spend crazy money on gimmicky air purifiers. They get you on the replacement filters, too. Instead, get high end filters at home improvement stores. Inexpensive, very effective and serviceable, but the tradeoff is a McGyver aesthetic. These have been used widely during wildfires to filter out soot when everything else was sold out.Lots of other uses. Obviously, securing cords and cables like a real gaffer is a major one.
