Thats how big the gap is on my phone with a inexpensive case. **Q: Does the packaging come with two installation trays or one?** A: Comes with 2 protectors each in their own installation tray ready for install. So yes it comes with 2 installation trays. Its easily a no worry install being that they are all pre setup **Q: Does this glass protector fit the iphone xs max from edge to edge or is there a gap around the outer edge?** A: The glass protector goes to the full edge of lighted Screen. There is a gap where the beveled edge of the XS starts. Spigen would have to sell a beveled glass screen to truly go edge to edge. I paired the tempered glass screen with a Spigen Case and it truly a slim sleek fit ( you can see the 1/8" gap between the edge of the screen and the case. Very satisfied. I had the same pairing on my Iphone 6 plus for 3 years and it with stood multiple accidental drops, even a few drops with the glass faced down.
