Review: They are truly extra wide calf friendly - These fit my very large calves. My calves are close to 20". They zip but I really don't have room for jeans. My calves are super large though so most large calf ladies would have plenty of room. Do be aware that the ankle section is not as generous as the upper portion. People with a lot of ankle swelling might not fit. I have a arthritis in one ankle that causes light swelling. I got them zipped but it required some patience. I personally like the tighter ankle because it prevents painful bunching. They have a bit of cowboy boot style that isn't as apparent in the photos. The "slouch" effect is good for me. My calf is like an ice cream cone shape which tends to make boots slide down a little. The slouch look disguises the little bit of sagging. Another note is that they are quite tall. Pay attention to the shaft height measurements. They do have a western style notch at the top that helps prevent chafing at the knee. I got the brown. I'd say they are more of a mushroom brown which is a little different than the photos in the picture. It's a grey toned brown. I actually like the color better in person. They might be a bit of a clash with a reddish brown outfit though.
