This is a ridiculous oversight, and you can absolutely find even very cheap grow lights that have a timer. The glass terrarium has a sharp edge, so be very careful when taking things in or out of it. The default position of the light is upwards instead of downwards, and while I was able to twist it to face the right way, it had a lot less range of movement that way. LED grow lights are very inexpensive these days, and you should absolutely be able to find some other glass container to use as a terrarium without risking cutting yourself every time you work with it. I would suggest picking out a grow light and terrarium separately, but if you have your heart set on a set, I feel confident you can find a different one that is better worth your money.

This grow light is missing a timer *and* doesn’t work with smart plugs - you’ve got to manually turn it on and off. The quality of the terrarium glass is excellent, however, I felt somewhat disappointed about the metal base it stands on. It is simply a flat piece of metal. There is nothing there to hold the vase in place, not a rim or anything. This, in my opinion, cheapens the product. The light however, is good and I appreciate that it is a grow light. This would be good in a dark corner of your house where you wish to grow plants.
