These really fits the bill with an extremely heavy base and mobile armature. With 45x magnification this easily fulfills what I need it to do which is finding breaks in solder joints on circuit boards. This doesn't break the bank and will work for a lifetime with solid construction. I'm very grateful that I came across this and have been putting it to a lot of use. I do recommend purchasing the collar light that is sold separately. Room illumination is sometimes adequate, but mostly not.
