The smaller diameter base and narrower angled sides prevent spreading of the dough during the final proof, resulting in taller loaves. I prefer this to other popular wood pulp baskets such as the ones from Bulka. Not to dis Bulka, it's a high quality product, but it and many others have wide bases that give wide flat loaves. Both the Brod & Taylor and Bulka absorbed just the right amount of moisture during the final proof and, with a light dusting of rice flour, released perfectly. I wish I would have found this a long time ago - Highly recommended! Also, a very reasonable price.

Great design! The smaller diameter base and narrower angled sides prevent spreading of the dough during the final proof, resulting in taller loaves. I prefer this to other popular wood pulp baskets such as the ones from Bulka. Not to dis Bulka, it's a high quality product, but it and many others have wide bases that give wide flat loaves. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beyond Expectations!

I was skeptical of a sugarcane and pulp banneton but it worked beautifully! By far the easiest banneton I ever used! The material is lightweight yet extremely sturdy. I generously dusted it with rice flour, but less generously than most people, and the loaf came out - suddenly! I’ve always used a bowl with a linen towel dusted generously with rice flour and I still had to peel the towel off the loaf praying the bread wouldn’t loose it’s shape. This banneton has absolutely no smell or odor and cleaned up with a light brushing. It’s lightweight, no grooves that can trap whatever and the size fits a standard boule loaf perfectly. I don’t know how long this will last but it’s thick and very sturdy so I expect as well as any basket. This is a keeper and will be purchasing the oval size next. Oh, and love that I can enjoy the ringed design on my loaves that I didn’t have before.
