**Q: Can you mount it exterior to the vehicle?**
A: Yes, this heater can be exterior mounted. We stock a suitable mount box for this purpose also. Thank you for your question and interest

**Q: Why does it use a dial and a timer? Is using a thermostat not an option with this heater?**
A: Hello, dial is basically a thermostat that you use to turn the heater on and set the temperature. Optionally you can upgrade the unit to a 7-day timer/thermostat. The manual dial that comes with this unit is handy because you can put the unit into high altitude mode, which is recommended for the gasoline model even if you don’t plan to use it at high altitude. It helps prevent carbon/soot build-up in the unit.

**Q: Does this heater operate at high altitudes without issues? I live in CO and plan on using it in elevations 5000' - 10,000'**
A: This heater with "Rotary Knob" can be set into "High Altitude" mode:

At the bottom of the heater there is a pigtail of 2 wires, one brown and one green, that they use for programming the system.
1: Connect the brown wire to ground.
2: Turn the heater control knob to 12:00
3: After a few moments, the LED on the heater control knob will begin to flash.
4: Turn the heater control knob to 9:00 (or even 8:00 if you are at very high altitude)
5: Keep the heater running with the control knob set to 9:00 for 3 minutes.
6: While the heater is running, remove the brown wire from ground.

Now the fuel pump should be set to deliver less fuel, thereby creating a better combustion mixture for high altitude and less oxygen.
