I used it on an automated Christmas tree watering system I built. Works awesome and is nice and quiet. The tube it comes with is kinda mehh, but I'd expect you would change it out anyway. I did and it worked amazing. Review: So far so good - This review based on build quality as I didn't have the chance to fully test this dosing pump on a long run. So far all what I can say this pump is built like the original Nokia 3310 lol. The casing is made from very high quality plastic and it doesn't feel cheap at all, I would say the case and the motor controller alone worth the money. The pump head and Probably the motor it self made from cheap material. I ran it for 1 hour to test, the dosing is consistent . I'll make another review after I try it on my calcium reactor. *******Updated. The peristaltic tube head is very poor quality, I end up modifying this dosing pump by replacing the whole pump with high end motor and peristaltic head. As I said previously the only good part about this pump is the housing and the chip. This is generally used as a dosage type pump. In other words, you apply power until it pumps what is needed...then you remove power. **Q: can it be used to pump sulfuric acid?** A: Yes it can but, and this is a big but, you need to check how resistant to sulfuric acid the tubing material is. If you don't liek what you find, replacing the tubing with a different plastic is possible. **Q: Can this pump be used for potable water? Is it possible to change the tube out for something food grade?** A: The tube can be changed - that's true for all peristaltic pumps although the difficulty varies - and thus if you use a suitable material use for potable water would be no issue. (Not sure of your application but you should be aware that the flow rate is quite low.)- **Q: Can it run on 9vdc?** A: Yes, this will run on 9 VDC. I have tested as low as 5 VDC and it works fine as long as there is no significant back pressure on the discharge hose.
