Review: Works Better Than Expected - I figured it would work well for logs, and it does, but it also works well for unwieldy tree stumps. (I didn't use it to pull them out of the ground, just to drag them once they were dug out.) When I first looped it around the stump I figured it would probably slip off at some point as I dragged the 800 lb stump across uneven ground, but it cinched down tight and never came off even though the stump rolled and twisted and bounced on the end of it. After I unhitched it I did have to drag the end out from under the stump by pulling it with the truck but that was expected. I've moved a half dozen stumps with root balls about 48" in diameter--probably up to 1200 lbs with no problem. I've moved a few trees (one 24" in diameter and 16' long - no idea how heavy) with no problem. Just go slow and steady.
Review: Cable is garbage, Rings are good. - The only good part of this item are the rings. 2nd log pulled and the cable slipped out of the crimp. Ok could be a bad crimp. Crimped on a new stop and pulled another log. Almost......The cable snapped. Says heavy duty but not the one I recieved. The rings are nice. Small fits through the large and over the ball on the ATV. Easy to use. Just not reliable. I removed the rings and put them on a 5/8" rope and have had no issues pulling out logs bigger and heavier than the ones with the supplied cable.

This choker worked great for the first few times but then it broke at upper swage. Looking back I think the log was too big and it may have dug into the ground while skidding it. I contacted them about a return two months after I originally bought it and they issued the return immediately no questions asked. Very pleased with the company, in fact I went on to buy their 16" skidding tongs and their Timberjack. Both fantastic tools and highly recommended. I would buy it again if I was working with smaller logs (the skidding tings work better for me right now).
