Review: I've Found Nothing Easier to use than HydroSilex - I've used HydroSilex Recharge for several years; switching from Prima Hydro. The 16 oz. bottle is enough to coat an Honda Pilot and a Toyota Tacoma several times, each. A bottle lasts me about two years. I only use it on clean, dry paint. I have not tried it while drying the paint. The Pilot is painted black and applying Recharge is quite simple. After washing and drying the vehicle, I work in sections: spray on, wipe off, buff clean. There are no streaks or spots and the gloss is very good. Keep a cloth in each hand: left hand for drying; right hand for buffing, and you can do an entire normal-sized vehicle in less than twenty minutes, with great results. It's the only product I've used on the Pilot that doesn't require meticulous technique to avoid swirls. I've had the Pilot nine years, and there are no easily noticed swirls or hazing. The plastic trim does show UV damage, so the HydroSilex didn't protect it. I use Cerakote on the trim now. I get the best durability when I reapply after two or three days. It maintains gloss and ease of cleaning for about six months. The vehicle is garaged about 3/4 of the time, so I can't comment objectively on the durability with UV exposure. The black paint gets quite hot in the sun. I suspect that would shorten the life of the coating. My truck is a neutral gray, which hides dirt well. I don't garage the truck, so it gets rain, snow, dew, frost, and plenty of UV exposure. The Recharge holds up very well. If the paint isn't dirty, I just wipe off the dew and the shine is still there. I will risk wiping off the dew when there's pollen on the paint, but not with dirt or dust. I recoat the truck about every four months, with a booster two days after application. It does not repel dust or pollen. They deposit just as they have with any other product I've used. I don't clean the paint without detergent. I can't comment on how easy removing dust or pollen without washing is. I've been tempted to try the graphene products, but the shine and beading of the HydroSilex belies the ease of application. I can't imagine I'd get noticeably different results with the newer coatings.
Review: Great product - I'm giving this stuff a fairly premature review here. Mostly because HydroSilex did me a HUGE favor, and sent me a 16oz bottle. This was because desertcart did not heed the company's cease and desist regarding third-party sellers in the marketplace, and as a result I was sent 2 16oz bottles of completely defective product. I was frustrated, I was livid; all I wanted was to try this product out and not have to pay for shipping. Luckily, HydroSilex has awesome staff, and they heard my pleas. When desertcart wouldn't correct their mistake, HydroSilex jumped on it and sent me a bottle. They could tell how badly I wanted to try this. At long last, my shiny 16oz bottle arrived a few weeks ago, and I got to work. First, I needed to do a lot of paint correction. I am the 2nd owner of my 2015 GTI, and whoever has the car before me neglected the paint badly. Swirls, scratches, you name it. After literally 12 hours of washing, clay bar, wax strip, and compounding, I was able to say I was satisfied enough with my paint's surface to apply my Recharge. It goes without saying at this point: there is only one viable method to apply. That is the dry method. I wouldn't even bother trying this with the wet method, though I imagine you could perceivably do it and with less product overall, be albeit with more haze. Applying is easy, you've all seen the videos. It's easier than using spray wax. Where I've seen a lot of people go wrong is applying to too large of an area, and then wiping dry. It specifically says on the bottle not to do that. I followed the instructions to the letter, and got great results. I applied the first coat, allowed my car to sit and cure overnight, so at least 10 to 12 hours went by before it was driven. I applied the second coat a week later, after a quick waterless wash. The results have been amazing. A few things I want to clarify, because I was curious about them before I bought it, and didn't really see many answers: first, this will not keep your car clean. It will repel dirt in that it more easily flies off with wind vs sticking to the paint, but your car will still get dirt, dust, and debris on the paint. Second, the hydrophobic properties are pretty much unparalleled as far as Si02 sprays are concerned, so doing "water tests" is a waste of time; it's going to bead of you applied it correctly to untainted paint. Third, you still have to wash your car. This coating will minimize the appearance of dirt and debris, but it didn't eliminate it, so accept that you still need to regularly wash. Fourth, their silica soap is NOT ideal for foam gun use. It probably does well or at least OK in a foam cannon, but not a foam gun. It simply doesn't produce enough suds. As for longevity, I really can't say yet. It's been several weeks (3-5) since I applied the first coat, and shave a week off of that timeline for the second coat. In that time, my car has been washed 3-5 times. I see no noticable reduction in clarity and the shine, nor can I yet speak to how long before I'll need another coat. If I end up having to apply a coat every 2 to 3 months, I'll still be satisfied. One last thing: if you're going to get even, thorough coverage, you will use more than what others say. I used 1/4ish of the bottle per coating, trying to use as little as possible, while still ensuring all surface areas received the same amount of product. Still, worth the investment, and I have zero regrets. Fantastic product.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Looks decent, we'll see how it holds up.
*by G***N on October 11, 2018*

I hand washed my truck, full traditional clay bar and then applied this product. The results were good, decent luster, the metallic really popped more than I expected it to. Very smooth to the touch. Don't be an idiot and put the bottle on your hood to "see if it slides off." The water beading isn't as "round" as with traditional wax which is interesting to me. We'll see how it holds up. I've washed my truck once since application and its holding up so far. Living in Vermont, the true test will be to see how it holds up in a few months with salt and brine put down by the State. I may apply another layer before then. Biggest complaint so far is that the nozzle on the spray bottle shoots out like a squirt gun. Almost no "spray" at all it's just one stream. Makes it hard to get the product on the body panels as it just wants to bounce off the paint. I put it into another spray bottle to alleviate that issue. Just annoying to have to relabel.
