The chocolate melts in your mouth, unlike the boxes of candy we get here in the US. The episode that featured the factory said that the purple one was by far the most popular in England, so we were really looking forward to that. It turned out that the purple one and the blue coconut one were our least favorite though, and the orange, strawberry and toffee ones were best to us. I guess tastes differ across the Atlantic. None were bad though, and we ate them all, just different preferences. Yes, a few of the pieces had a tiny bit of "bloom" (whiteness on the surface of the chocolate, which is just some of the cocoa butter rising to the surface due to temperature fluctuations) which to me did not affect the flavor at all. Most importantly, it was chock full of memories! My father is middle eastern with a huge family (usually get a crowd of 500-600 at a wedding!), and has a lot of family in the U.K. I personally have never been there, yet. But this must have been a popular gift from visiting family because every house we visited on weekends had a tin of quality street on the table. As a bored kid who didn't speak the language being used, I would entertain myself with the sights and smells of these chocolates. Cracking this tin open now was an instant walk down memory lane. I'm quite satisfied with the quality, a bit of bloom is to be expected when chocolate has traveled overseas and then been parked in a warehouse for a bit. Everything I've tried so far tastes fresh.
