If you were shrunk wrapped for most of your life, you would probably not look great either when unwrapped. Seriously, a wash and dry revives the towels to a fluffy, absorbent, and soft state. When folded and stacked, they look just like the photo. I've ordered two sets in black and grass green and I love them. I've washed the black ones numerous times in 2 years with no broken stitches. Just got the green ones, and expect the same. Those that complain about the 13" x 28" size? They are exactly as stated, so you should expect the size to be as stated. I'd order again, no problem.
