**Q: what is a good budget subwoofer to pair with the 1280dbs? advice please.**
A: I bought the Dayton SUB-800 for a hundred bucks, placed it under my computer desk. Pretty solid results. The sub was a bit underwhelming at first but it's performing better and better with break-in time. I built stands for the Edifiers to get the tweeters at ear height on either side of a 27" curved monitor, toed the speakers inwards for best sound. With the Dayton sub it's a very, very satisfactory near-field sound system for about $240.

The sound quality is seriously awesome! I'm using it with my TV, hooked up with an optical cable. Getting amazing sound, mostly when I'm watching Netflix, Prime Video, Spotify, and YouTube. Bluetooth audio sounds great too. It fills my family room with enough sound, which is perfect for its size. The bass is pretty strong, but not like, earth-shakingly strong, which is totally fine by me. I really dig the bass level; it's got plenty of oomph for what I need.
