## Overview

SolarQuest: The Space-Age Real Estate Game - Deluxe Edition is a Kickstarter-backed, strategy board game for 2 to 8 players that combines luck and skill to build monopolies across the Solar System. Featuring magnetic fuel stations, two levels of gameplay, and updated planetary graphics, it offers hours of engaging family fun while subtly teaching strategic thinking and space facts.

## Description

Fasten your seat belt, roll the dice, and begin your fantastic voyage into the far reaches of our Solar System to build your financial empire. Your mission is to build monopolies within the planet systems and complete a special assignment while avoiding bankruptcy and the many perils of space travel. The whole family will enjoy many hours of exciting space adventure on this beautiful depiction of our Solar System. SolarQuest combines strategy and luck, creating a challenging and unpredictable family game. This Kickstarter backed special edition of the classic board game SolarQuest includes enhanced graphics, the major dwarf planets, magnets on the Fuel Card and game board to hold the Fuel Stations in place, 2 levels of game play including an easy version that does not require fuel monitoring for younger players, special rules that make the planet Mars the coveted "Boardwalk" of the Solar System, and provides provisions for up to 8 players.

Review: Versatile, fun game - This has become a fast family favorite. Game is well made, with sturdy materials that seem like they are built to last. This game is easy to learn and play, and is incredibly versatile. Choose which variation works for you or try different ways. Don't have much time? We have played "Race to Earth" by seeing who can journey through space and back to Earth the fastest. Want to have unique objectives to the game for each player? Have everyone start with a mission card. You can incorporate mission cards in different ways. Compete and see who is first to achieve their goal or make it cooperative and everyone wins only if everyone achieves their goal. Choose to make secret mission cards or make them visible to everyone. Play without fuel to simplify for new or younger players, or with fuel for a more dynamic challenge. This game is fun independent of any educational components. However, for those considering buying the game as a learning experience, expect that 1) Players become familiar with the planets and dwarf planets in our solar system, 2) Players become familiar with which planets have no moons, which have only one or two moons, and which have many moons, 3) Players learn names of several moons and which planets those moons are associated with, 4) Playing close attetion to board set up, which planets are rocky and which are gas giants (that we cannot land on) 5) Making change with 1000, 500, 100, 50, and 10 based monetary units, 6) Math for fuel, 7) multiplication of numbers shown on dice, and more. This game does not teach how relatively close or far each planet is to the sun. We didn't buy it for that anyway. This game is really fun, and I highly reccomend!
Review: Finally found it! - That space age real estate boardgame from my childhood is finally back. And somewhat improved! More recently discovered celestial bodies and the reclassification of Pluto incorporated into this really fun family board game. It's more fun than Monopoly (in my opinion) and had been hard to find. Get it while you can!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I have a 7 year old that is really into planets and all she is asking for for Christmas is a telescope. Will this game be to hard for her?**
A: I play it regularly w/ my 8-yr old daughter, who generally loves it. Her only difficulty is in keeping track of the fuel usage when playing w/ the advanced rules--this is an extra step that is difficult to remember at times. There is also a lot of strategy involved w/ maintaining a cache of spare fuel stations and knowing when to place a fuel station vs. not. She has stranded herself multiple times by not planning enough in advance.

**Q: Is it up to 8 players or specifically 8 players? Can it be played with 2?**
A: Up to 8 players.
You can play with 2 players.

**Q: Are Laser ruls optional?**
A: Lasers are optional in both the Standard and Advanced Play instructions for SolarQuest Deluxe Edition.

**Q: Whats the difference between the deluxe and mars edition?**
A: The Deluxe Edition has extra money and 2 more space ships to make it an 8 player game. The Mission to Mars Edition is a 6 player game. Game play is identical.
