### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A decent first fountain pen.

It is a great starter fountain pen. Lamy safari is known across the fountain pen community as the number 1 beginner pen. It writes smooth, but not super smooth. The build quality is pretty good, but it could be better. It doesn't feel cheap per se but it doesn't feel premium either. it is a good daily cary pen. If I lost it, I wouldn't be too upset. The design is definitely unique, some people adore how these pens look. I am not crazy about them but it is definitely functional. The grip is flat on two sides and round on the other, creating something of a semi triangle. I don't mind it but I know some can't standing, depending on how you grip the pen. It is worth pointing out that it uses a proprietary cartridges and converter sold separately. It was a good deal for the price as it came with a blue ink cartridge and a plastic sleeve to protect it. I won't get rid of the pen but I wouldn't buy another one for my collection. I keep it as a back up at the moment.
