The unique DryDex formula goes on bright pink and shifts to a natural wood tone when it is completely dry and ready to sand, removing all the traditional guesswork. The knife-grade latex paste spreads cleanly, resists shrinking, and securely anchors screws or nails once it has cured. Rapid Shelf-Life Expiration: The biggest downside is how incredibly fast it dies inside the container. Because it is a water-based latex formula designed to react and cure quickly upon exposure to air, the seal on the standard packaging rarely prevents it from drying out after the initial use. Storing it for a few months typically leaves you with a completely hardened, useless brick of dead filler. Pro-Tip for Storage Expansion: To get more life out of your next batch, try adding a tablespoon of warm water directly onto the top of the remaining paste before sealing it. Needed some sort of filler for the wooden mail box post. The filler worked perfect on the cracks and crevaces that naturally occurred in the wood. Patched with the filler, let it dry, then sanded with my battery powered hand held sander. Painted the post a nice bright red.
