Its extremely sturdy and the install didn't require any drilling or modifications to my 2008 Rubicon, with the exception to adding on a place for a front license plate. And better yet, it didn't require any modification to install the Smittybilt XRC 9500lbs winch. But I do have 2 issues with the bumper itself. 1 is that there is no place for a front license plate. The state I live in requires a front and rear plate, so I had to drill two small holes over the "Smittybilt" logo plate and installed it there. Not a big deal, but I prefer buying things that are ready to go right out of the box. My second issue is that the design of the bumper made it so that there is a large collection tray at the bottom of the bumper for various debris and no way for it to easily be cleaned out. I can see this being a real pain after playing in the mud and having scoop of all of the crap this tray collects. Good news though, it made a great catch for my tools when I was installing the winch. Although I rated the bumper for 4 stars, the instructions were a definite 0. The instructions start you out unnecessarily drilling 1/2 holes. Past that, the instructions were a challenge to piece together from what each model requires and to top it off all of the reference pictures were blurry. I found it much easier to go to YouTube and get the instructions on there.
