A 15 month old may find them fun. When you are in the kitchen, they can use them on the fridge or a metal cookie sheet. Take out the smaller animals due to choking hazard.They are made of durable wood...just in case you have a nibbler. Also, all paint is non-toxic. **Q: Have these magnets ever left scratches when used on a stainless steel refrigerator?** A: Yes I took them off my refrigerator because they left scratches and put them on a magnetic board. **Q: Are the images on stickers pressed onto the wood or are they painted on?** A: The images are printed on paper & glued to very nice, smooth plywood with a magnet on the back.
