Alot of smashing around and minimal spills as well. It is not 100% leak proof however and in the wrong position it can slowly ooze its contents all of your purse/car in the straw or open spout mode. It comes with instructions but I didn't read them so I had to learn the hard way. The only thing is that if you fill the liquid pretty high or if it still has a decent amount of liquid you can squirt it all over yourself due to the pressure in the straw mode.
