The original color fades away but it's normal on all aluminum products. My pot has been used for over a year and continues to do a wonderful job, I recommend it highly, I love the fact that when making the rice if you let it sit for a few extra minutes after cooking under a low flame, it will make the bottom of the rice nice and crispy. **Q: Does this caldero have a heavy bottom?** A: Yes it does! **Q: Is this part round or oval shape and how deep is it** A: Not worth the money Isn't very bug ir deep at all and if you want to return the seller makes you pay for shopping so it's like ur losing $20 if you send back, a waste of time I have gotten bigger better posts for less and a much better quality I wouldn't recommend this to ANYONE **Q: How many cups of rice does this take ?** A: Around 10 cups. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beat Caldero…and I have many *by M***N on January 11, 2026* Love this thing! Much better than the competition but you will pay more. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Never thought I would find it on Amazon *by K***E on May 19, 2025* Exactly what I saw on Amazon exactly what I bought it was the exact size that I was looking for ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Quality But The Streaks Are a Bummer *by C***A on October 4, 2019* I just received the 5qt caldero today. It seems to be a solid, sturdy, good quality caldero but it has a lot to be desired aesthetically. After hand washing and oiling (to removes stickers on side and bottom of product) I was not able to remove streaks throughout the caldero and its lid (see photos) It seems like they were created during the pouring process of the cast aluminum so the streaks will be there permanently. I do not plan to return this caldero however as it seems to be of good quality (like the one my mom had when I grew up).
