We read all the reviews and, at first, we were hesitant because of reading the negative reviews, but we decided to order anyway. We are glad we did. Here is what we found ... PACKAGING & LABELING: We found absolutely NO problem with the packaging or with the labelling. All parts were shipped in two boxes, packed appropriately, nothing was missing, and nothing was broken. Each wooden section was either stamped with the appropriate letter or had a clearly visible label on it. The directions were clear and concise. ASSEMBLY: Yes, it did take some time, as to be expected, and it did take two people for some steps. But, if you take the time to lay out each piece in separate piles according to sections as it is to be assembled, you shouldn't have any trouble. Much of it is a matter of common sense. STURDINESS: It does seem flimsy as you are putting it together, HOWEVER, once all sides are fastened, the screws are tightened, and the shelves and brackets are in place, the unit does become sturdier, and when the roof is in place it is definitely substantial. We live on a hill, in a development, and we get some fairly high winds at times, but because the sides are open and there is weight, to this unit it's not going anywhere. TIPS: BEFORE we did ANYTHING, we sealed each piece of wood AND the asphalt roof with Flex Seal. For the wood pieces, we brushed on two coats of the clear liquid gel, allowing them to dry completely between coats. For the roof, we brushed on a coat of the clear gel then applied a coat of the clear spray just to be safe. Flex Seal comes in clear, black, and white and is guaranteed for 30 years. We've had two rains, one was a heavy downpour, and we had no leaks. Another thing we did was add a strip of wood along the top of the front side of the frame under the three asphalt roof pieces creating a slight slant to allow rain to run off. Any rain that did remain puddled because of the Flex Seal (see photo) The wood strip also allows for extra airflow on those windy days. This helps with any concern of high winds blowing it away. Finally, I wasn't happy with the sturdiness of the side ledges where they meet in the middle, so I took a zip tie and fastened it around the brackets on each level of both sides to tighten them. Worked perfect!! SUMMARY: All in all, we are very pleased with this catio and we don't understand all the negative comments. We are especially puzzled by the photo of the collapsed roof. If the wood strips were used and applied properly, we don't see how that can happen. If you decide to purchase this catio, take your time and commit to assembling it properly. Don't rush and don't take shortcuts. Take the extra time and effort to properly seal the wood. Your kitties are worth it, and they'll love you for it. Ours have spent ours in their catio (and into the evening) watching the birds, enjoying the sounds, watching daddy do lawn work, and even taking their afternoon naps. Review: Good choice. - Assembly went pretty well but I am handy and was ready to set this up. If you're not, be ready to struggle. It took maybe 1.5 hours to set up. We didn't seem to have all the hardware for the hides so we were only able to make one. We could add another but don't really feel like it anyway. I was super ready to quit at that point. Seems durable. Has a strong cedar smell which isn't unpleasant. My cats enjoy it and can not get free. (One of them stress tested it immediately) Light enough to move by yourself but sturdy enough that I'm not worried it will fly away. ## Features - Multiple Platform: Unique upgraded extra middle platform and enlarge six side shelves allows cats to jump from left to right, others cannot, providing kittens with more climbing space - Walk In Style: Oversized convenient front door at 59.5" with safety latch allows adult people to access the cat enclosure to interact with the pets, while making cleaning easier - Two Sleeping House: Fully enclosed cat catio with two spacious sleeping houses offer super soft and warm lounging spots, give your feline friends a luxurious napping experience - Leakproof Roof: Waterproof asphalt roof will never leak, protect your pets from the sun and rain. Cat playpen with strong metal wire, your cat can safely enjoy the outdoors - Two Small Doors: The cat catio with two lift small doors which are convenient for kittens to enter and exit. It can also be connected to pet gate or cat tunnel, you never have to worry about your precious cat getting lost ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0F5HM9FJ9 | | Best Sellers Rank | #62,408 in Pet Supplies ( See Top 100 in Pet Supplies ) #342 in Cat Houses & Condos | | Brand | Aivituvin | | Brand Name | Aivituvin | | Color | Grey | | Customer Reviews | 4.2 out of 5 stars 1,154 Reviews | | Dog Breed Size | Large | | Included Components | Sleeping house | | Manufacturer | Aivituvin | | Material | Wood | | Material Type | Wood | | Model Number | AIR52-M-A | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Product Style | Rustic | | Style | Rustic | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Aivituvin - **Material:** Wood - **Color:** Grey - **Style:** Traditional - **Assembly Required:** Yes ## Images ![Cat House Outdoor Catio Kitty Enclosure with Super Large Enter Door,Wooden Cat Cage Condo Indoor Playpen with Platforms,Small House 74 Inch - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71akd3eZQkL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Set name** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Well worth the $$$ *by N***Y on June 11, 2022* After thinking long and hard about how we were going to contain two rambunctious kittens on our raised deck, we settled on this catio. There are predrilled holes to help with the assembly. I have put product together for a long time and while it was marked my husband and I could not get it together in 60 minutes. And for the start of the assembly, you may need two people as the pieces are not completely solid. One thing to note this does not come in 1 package and there is no notification that there are 2 unless you look at the end of the stock number it shows 1of2 or 2of2. It will seem flimsy until you get it all together but is sturdy once completed. The instructions are fairly clear but, on several steps, they try to put more than one step in the visual images, and it can be confusing. Overall, it appears to be a good product, only been assembled for 1 day. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the packages not being explained when I ordered it and having to contact customer service to find out and the instructions having some confusion. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/726444979-cat-house-outdoor-catio-kitty-enclosure-with-super-large-enter](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/726444979-cat-house-outdoor-catio-kitty-enclosure-with-super-large-enter) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-26*
