The backrest is definitely nice to have; however, you may invade other's space if you lean back too much. I did not have any problems with the adjustable backstrap coming loose as others did. Once done with it, it is very easy to unsnap the bottom strap from the bleachers, fold up and carry away with the shoulder strap. These are very light to carry. I was able to carry 2 on my shoulder with a small cooler without any problem. I was thinking about getting one of the heavier stadium seats that cost twice as much, but I decided to get 2 of these for the price of one of the stadium seats. No regrets.

Used this for the first time this past weekend at a baseball game. The bottom strap is a breeze to setup on the metal bleachers and keeps the seat in place when you lean back. The cushion is not plush but is much better than sitting on the hard metal surface. The backrest is definitely nice to have; however, you may invade other's space if you lean back too much.
