## Description

BONDERITE M-CR 1001 AERO is a nonflammable, chromic acid based, coating chemical that will produce a chrome conversion coating on aluminum and its alloys. The coating formed by Alodine 1001 is clear in color and it becomes a part of the aluminum surface. This chrome conversion coating offers the best affordable substrate for both paint adhesion and corrosion resistance. Alodine 1001 is used when it is desired to retain the silver white aluminum. Mil-DTL-81706B, Type 1, Class 3, Material Form 1. Light metals.

This is NOT hexavalent chromium like another reviewer posted. Just because it is a chemical conversion coating does not mean it has anything to do with Erin Brockovich. 🙄

Followed instructions to the T and only was able coat a hand full of items. Spoke with an engineer from the company and stated the cleaning solution I was told to use was the wrong one, most likely the reason it coated only a handful of items otherwise works well.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Neutralize waste with sodium metabisulfite

Neutralize the resulting waste solution with sodium metabisulfite or another reducing agent. It's cheap. It will turn green when neutralized. Then you can dispose of it safely. This is a perfectly decent product, and most of the fears about hexavalent chromate would be resolved if people simply knew more about the associated chemistry.
