In practice this translates in a couple of seconds in quicker cutting on an average limb. For me, being a horticulturalist it's worth it. For you it may not be. I use the medium for general use and the large toothed for larger limbs. I also have a fine toothed blade for delicate tasks. For me, the nuances of pruning require more precision in the use of tools/blades. **Q: What is the best silky saw for cutting bone for hunting?** A: Saws with medium teeth work best. We have found the GomBoy 121-21 works best (ASIN B000CEAX8S). **Q: how long is it when folded?** A: It fits in typical pocket sticking out just slightly.
