I’ve found the trick with areas where dogs pee on the grass is to really water the grass/bare spots so that the urine flows away and can’t concentrate in those areas any longer. I then plant the grass seed and water it regularly so that if any dogs do continue to pee in those spaces, the water dilutes the pee and the grass grows/fills in those spots nicely. I’ve always been able to count on this grass seed to grow without any problems. **Q: Is this seed coated?** A: Yes, it is coated. **Q: How will this work in the deep south? does it grow well in hotter climates? it's a shaded area just hot climate** A: Here in Pleasanton CA it gets up to 95 F. in the summer, and can hit 25 F. in the winter. Not humid. The shadow of a 100 ft tree crosses my lawn from 10am to 6pm. I bought $46 of this stuff and broadcast it over the lawn with a whirlybird. I kept it damp for 3 weeks.
