The umbrella is pretty, and what I especially liked is that the butterflies are examples of real butterflies... not crazy artsy ideas that don't exist in nature. The pictures do not show this so well, but I guessed correctly that when light is coming through the outside of the umbrella... you can see some color of the butterflies from the inside under the umbrella. However, this color is much more dim than the outside print, as the picture does reveal. The color of the orange, orange and yellow, and white butterflies are the most clear. The blue butterflies are duller from the inside. This umbrella design is lovely but could use two major improvements so far as design is concerned (not technical function, which I cannot yet evaluate). 1. It would be great if the color of butterflies were more vivid from the inside for the enjoyment of the owner while using. 2. It would be nicer if there were more variety of butterflies. Just two panels complete the art design, which is typical of many artistic umbrellas. I would love for each panel to be different, or at least 4 panels that were significantly different from each other. That would be so lovely. I hope such improvements will occur on future models of umbrellas like this. There was powder on the inside and outside of the umbrella as another reviewer stated, and this needed to be cleaned carefully... it didn't come off perfectly yet, but I think it won't be a big problem. It is a pretty umbrella, and cheerful. I usually just get wet in rain and don't use umbrellas, but this one is so nice I will take opportunities to use it.
