They just put it in the shipping box with no cushioning. Amazon was nice enough to offer a partial refund because of this. The biggest selling points for this food are: - No prescription needed. - 12 cans instead of 24. - Variety of flavors and textures. We all know that cats can be picky eaters. More so when they are older and have kidney issues. This food helps to address that by having a variety of flavors and only 12 cans. Nothing worse than buying 24 cans of prescription food only to have your cat not eat it. Cost works out to be a little cheaper too. My senior kitty has been gobbling this up. She doesn't seem to have a preference for any particular flavor or texture yet which makes me hopeful she will continue to eat this. The only downside is that the cans are slightly larger so none of my can covers fit them. I don't like silicone but bought a new cover despite that. It stuck out so far from the edge of the can I worry it will get knocked over in the fridge. And the seal wasn't great either.
