I also did a test and bent the line 180 deg on a 3" diameter, straightened it and re-bent it, straightened it (you get the Idea) 3 complete times with no issue on the 4th time it started to kink from being over stretched so many times but did not brake. so I was impressed at the line quality. Some lines under the hood could be 1/4", so best to measure. You will need to have a double flare tool and I recommend the OEMTOOLS 24364 In-Line Flaring Tool Kit which is easier to use and more foolproof than the traditional tool. You run the new line alongside the rusted line, and do not have to replace all, you will need a simple mini tube cutter and you can cut the line at an accessible point, install a new nut with a flare and new line from that point on, There are brass unions that connect two lines easily and cheaply.
