## Description

Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat Ultra Clumping Cat Litter is a unique formulation that combines the heavy non-tracking granules of classic with a medium-grain clay. The result is an excellent clumping litter that prevents moisture from reaching the bottom of the tray while providing a clump that will not break down. This cat litter is perfect for multi-cat households and those cat parents with sifting or mechanical litter boxes. With its superior odor control, you can be sure your home will always smell fresh and clean.

Review: I love this litter!! - Update; I’ve been meaning to come on and here review the litter after use. Just like any clay litter, the more you scoop, the more you break down the granules. As the granules break down they become a powder causing dust. The dust I am experiencing from granulated break down is bad, as to be expected by process, but it’s not as bad as the litter in the yellow tub that starts off extremely dusty. So for those who can afford to, that want less dust, you need to do full litter box changes more often. When the dust has got a limit that you can’t take anymore do a full change and you’ll be back to less dust from not only this brand but any other brands. ✌️ I have 2 cats and 1 large litter box. I haven’t had the money to move into the future with an auto litter box. This is my first time using this litter so i started with a full clean. Upon pouring the bag of litter into the box there was zero and I mean ZERO dust. So my first impression was holy cow no dust. The whole reason I wanted to do a full change was the more popular name brand in a bucket is so dusty it’s 100% unhealthy for my cats and I. This litter is amazing. It clumps great. Also, I have to mention I absolutely hate when litter breaks down and leaves little pieces every time you scoop. I mean what’s the use if there’s little pieces all mixed up in the litter you’re trying to clean. I have NOT had that problem yet while scooping. For being slightly OCD with how clean I want the box I’m again, impressed. Just remember YOU MUST add a good amount of litter to your box in order for it to NOT stick to your box so the litter stops the urine before it gets to the plastic. You wonder about it hitting the sides first, still it will clump perfectly if you put enough litter in the box stopping it from sticking to the sides as well. This litter is trapping all smells as well. I’d give it 10 starts of I could. Completely impressed and will not be going back to any other litter I have previously used. Would 100% recommend whether using an auto or stick scooping yourself. ✌️ fellow cat lovers 😊
Review: Best clumping cat litter ever! - I have tried just about every litter on the market of the "clumping" variety. I moved a year and a half ago from a home where I had lived with two cats for years. While helping me pack this huge house which was filled with way too much "stuff," my daughter and her husband both commented on all the dust on everything, especially everything close to the above-ground basement where the two litter boxes were placed. Both of them said the dust made them cough, and once I started paying attention, I realized that I was coughing myself every time I cleaned the litter boxes, and the coughing got worse from disturbing the dust going through and sorting and packing. Once I was in the house I rented, I tried two or three different clumping litters, but all of them had the same heavy perfume odor and there was dust from it everywhere, and about half an inch of dust in the bottom of the litter box at all times, so there is no wonder it was getting everywhere with the help of the cats digging and the stuff flying everywhere. Not only that, but the cats sometimes had "damp" paws, the dust would stick to the paws, and they were tracking cement-like trails across the laminate flooring - and the carpeting as well, though at least I could not SEE that! Then I bought a house and spent four months remodeling it. Once again, during the process of packing, we could all see the cat litter dust everywhere and smell that heavy perfume they use to mask odor. I decided that before I moved into my home with brand new everything, including floor tile, carpeting, blinds, etc., I was going to do some research and try to find a less irritating and dusty litter. My reasoning was that if it was making people cough, it could not be good for my cats to breathe it, either. and I had had more than enough of the dust and the "wet cement" paw marks! I decided to give Precious Cat a try, and this was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I am just sorry it took me so long to take the time and do the research. I have been using Precious Cat since the end of February. There is no perfume odor whatsoever, there is absolutely NO dust at all, the litter clumps as hard as a rock and never comes to pieces while being scooped, and for some reason, I seem to be adding litter to the boxes less frequently. I have not quite figured out the reason for this yet! Yes - it is pricey, but it is worth the price to me to get rid of that constant cloying smell and the dust everywhere all the time. At least desertcart has it now PRIME, which is a huge benefit, because I looked at Petco on-line and thought I had found a real deal. Wow! Forty pounds for $15.99! Then I got to checkout and the shipping was over $16.00! So back I came to blessed desertcart.com, and this is where I will purchase my Precious Cat Litter from now on. I will pay the higher price for such a high-quality litter, especially since I am using less of it than any other litter I have used in the past. Thanks for carrying Precious Cat, desertcart - and thanks for having it available PRIME, too. By the way, anyone who says the "pee balls" stick to the bottom of the box, try this: I lift one end of the box and drop it about 2 inches back to the floor, then tilt it away from me and repeat the process. This completely loosens the clumps and they are easy to scoop. I do this because I am 74 and the less time I spend being down on my knees cleaning litter boxes, the better off I am! I DID replace my litter boxes, because the ones I had were made of some weird kind of plastic that the clumps DID stick to. Remembering a Maine Coon cat breeder with a LOT of cats and kittens who used plastic tote bins without the lids, I bought two Rubbermaid Roughneck bins with 8" sides, tossed out the lids that came with them, and they are in use now as litter boxes and work great. The higher sides keep the litter from being thrown out with fastidious kitties getting carried away in the covering up process and flinging the litter about, and because one of my cats is a 17-pound Maine Coon female, she is VERY happy not to have to cram her big furry self, including her gorgeous long plume of a tail, into even the largest covered litter box I could find. We are ALL much happier with Precious Cat and new open-top litter boxes! And I must be honest - my first purchase of Precious Cat was NOT from desertcart, because at the time it was not PRIME and I got it cheaper elsewhere. Happily, this is not the case any longer.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Bought twice-1st time loved it, 2nd time stuck like glue to bottom of litter box.Has anyone had same problem? I added a few inches but it didn't help.**
A: Yup. We were using this litter for a couple of years and lately it becomes a thick mess, like fresh concrete, on the bottom of the litter box and its a real pain to scrap out the wet litter. We are now mixing it 50/50 with the "world's best kitty litter" because I don't want to throw it away and the "worlds best" while great at clumping is not as good at odor control. Something changed in the manufacturing of this product for sure!

**Q: what is the litter made of?**
A: It's NOT dustless. To see this the best, watch and breathe as you tip (however gently) new litter in the pan. We get the best food, can't afford the best litter so found this to be the best (we were on Arm & Hammer but they changed and got super dusty), then price started going up this year so we went elsewhere. Have use dpine which is good, but you have to clean every day as its non clumping, just lays on top. Spending a bit more now on Wheat litter, NO DUST when you pour, cats are ok with it. Hope they cough less than with clay. Whats the point in the best food and then giving them clay (ALL clay litter produces dust and the cats are way more sensitive to it then us).

**Q: How does this compare to "Fresh Step" when it comes to the amount of airborne dust? Thanks!**
A: We, too, used Fresh Step for years, until we discovered Precious Cat. Unfortunately, all cat litter has dust that can become airborne. That said, Precious Cat by far has the least amount. We have seven litter pans in one area (currently four cats) and keep an air cleaner there as well. Sweeping or vacuuming in the area daily is a must to keep litter from being tracked throughout the house, which gets crushed underfoot and can then become airborne dust.

**Q: Is this litter sented?**
A: No. The label/description is correct :"it controls odor naturally without perfume, deodorants or chemicals".This is an unscented litter vs some that say unscented but if you dig deeper (bad pun) you can find "masking scent" as seen in some air/room/fabric deodorizers.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ HIGHLY recommend trying this litter! Never using another one!
*by S***A on June 26, 2026*

I’ve been using this cat litter for years, and it’s still my favorite. I have it on Subscribe & Save because it’s one of the few products I never want to run out of. The dust level is excellent—there’s very little compared to other brands I’ve tried. Odor control is also one of its biggest strengths and a major reason I continue to buy it. I use it in my Casa Leo automatic litter box, and it works perfectly. It clumps quickly, doesn’t stick to the inside of the litter box, and doesn’t leave behind a dusty residue, which makes cleaning much easier. It does track a little outside the box, but because it’s low-dust, it’s much less messy than many competing litters. I have two cats, and this litter has been consistently reliable. The clumping, odor control, and overall performance make it well worth the price. After years of using it, I can confidently say it’s the best litter I’ve found, and I’ll continue buying it. Highly recommend trying it out!!
