They create a natural barrier against mosquitoes while burning cleanly for up to 30 hours. **Q: How do the incense sticks compare to the candles?** A: Both repel mosquitoes naturally, but incense sticks burn for 2.5+ hours, making them great for quick outdoor gatherings, while candles provide longer-lasting coverage. **Q: How long does each candle burn?** A: Each full-size candle provides up to 30 hours of mosquito protection. The mini candles burn for 14 hours, and the tea lights last about 4 hours each. **Q: Do they smell strong or artificial?** A: Not at all! The scent is a natural, refreshing mix of citrus and herbs—no harsh chemicals or overpowering perfume-like smells. **Q: Can I use these indoors?** A: These candles are designed for outdoor use only. They work best on patios, decks, and campsites where mosquitoes are a problem. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It works. *by S***L on August 31, 2026* Works wonderfully. I burn them in home to keep flies and mosquitoes out and it is very effective. Smells nice too. Doesn’t aggravate my pets. Will be buying more…. many more. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Smell fantastic & really work *by M***P on September 24, 2026* Smell wonderful & really work. Lots of rain means lots of mosquitoes. These candles lit in our seating area kept them away. I’m super smell sensitive. These smell wonderful ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good alternative to chemicals - but DOES ANYTHING DETER MOSQUITOES? *by Z***A on August 27, 2026* Chose these because they do contain oils that claim to deter pesky mosquitoes- rosemary, peppermint, citronella, lemongrass and cedarwood oils…which by the way also can deter ticks. The smell while burning seems more citronella like, even though this wasn’t the highest concentrated ingredient, but it wasn’t overbearing…hence my claim of whether it really works. Based on my past with these candles, they may work in a small diameter where you burn them, but they don’t reach under the picnic table where your ankles still are mosquito bait. It did burn nicely with no excessive black smoke, but I also watched the wick size while burning. It says to only burn about a 3 hour span of time, which is probably just ironically how long a day I had it lit. I would buy it again, as it was a set of two and price was fair. ## Frequently Bought Together - Murphy's Naturals Mosquito Repellent Candle | DEET Free | Made with Plant Based Essential Oils and a Soy/Beeswax Blend | 30 Hour Burn Time | 9oz | 2 Pack - Murphy's Naturals Lemon Eucalyptus Oil Insect Repellent Spray | DEET-Free, Plant-Based | Mosquito and Tick Repellent for Skin + Gear | 4 Ounce Pump Spray | 2 Pack - Murphy’s Naturals Mosquito Repellent Incense Sticks (24 Count) | Proven, Natural Ingredients Like Rosemary, Lemongrass and Citronella | Each Stick Protects 2.5+ Hours | Great for The Yard and Camping --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/69382740-murphys-naturals-citronella-mosquito-repellent-candles-9-oz-pack-2](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/69382740-murphys-naturals-citronella-mosquito-repellent-candles-9-oz-pack-2) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-23*
