Review: An absolute steal... - Tested with Noodler's Black ink, on both printer paper and some random light stationary paper with a gentle tooth I had lying around. Hot damn, this is a beauty. Very nicely balanced, well machined, smooth as butter, with a very pleasing weight in the hand and an excellent grip. Posts very nicely too, and feels lovely in a way the short length doesn't immediately suggest. It looks so short my brain keeps going "surely that can't work", then I pick it up and it feels like a longer ben thanks to the excellent balance. Not bad unposted either, surprisingly, and an interesting contrast that's fun to play with, but its a little nimble for my writing mechanics. The cap is also very nicely made, with an o ring that tightens the cap is screwed on tight and seems to make it actually water tight; haven't had it long enough to know how the seal with hold up, but thus far its very, very nice. Performs remarkably well on standard printer paper: as any fountain pen lover knows the stuff is a little slick, but this nib somehow manages to still feel manageable. Not my favorite experience, but very, very respectable. With a light tooth to the paper this baby glides effortlessly, and makes for wonderful writing. I'm honestly amazed how nice this feels for the price; I've used pens that cost three to five times this and didn't feel as nice. In shor I love this little gem, and I'll be getting at least two or three more since this should make for a wonderful travel companion. This is my first Hong Dian too, so I'll have to give some of their other offerings a try...
Review: My FAVORITE pocket pen - This little pen is excellent. The extra fine is my favorite nib from Hong Dian. It glides smoothly but provides just enough feedback to feel good and not scratchy or annoying. Ink flow is very controlled. It is not super wet but also not dry. The converter is on the small side. But this is a pocket pen so that should be expected. They are made out of aluminum so they are very durable. They come in many colors so pick your favorite one and get writing. They all look great and I love the finial cap of the two ying yang cats. For $20, this pen is amazing value and I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys fountain pens.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice pen, I like it.

Good pen. mine writes well. Moderately thin line with Parker Quink, shaeffer, and a cartridge (jinhao maybe?), so happy with that. It is smooth writing. Not scratchy like some value F-pens I've had that had lines even slightly bolder than this. Fit and finish is good. Posts well, balanced in hand when post, but not so much if you don't. THe clip is the best I've had on a FPen under $50, and better than a lot over that - it's spring/mechanical and seems smooth and sturdy. The clip, if rated by itself, would get 5 stars. It did work it's way apart (that is, "cap" came unscrewed) in my pocket one day, but I caught it before ink got all over and ruined anything ... but now I lack confidence it'll stay together and so I've watch it closely after that, check it a lot. I like it, 4 stars = good pen. Just can't quite say there is anything spectacular about it or that it represents an exceptional value to quite get to that 5th star. THe clip is great, buuuut then it did work it's way apart in my pocket. Hmmm... offsetting things I guess. I would recommend it, and I would buy it again, but I sort of like "collecting" and trying out value fountain pens. Again, nothing wrong with it, and it does write smoothly, so it is going to be in my "daily" rotation of pens I use throughout the week. Don't let 4 stars dissuade you - If you think the shape/size and color is cool, you might love this pen, or if you just like to accumulate unique value pens, put this on your list.
