It does have a protein powder taste, of course, but it is mild. The vanilla is mild too. I didn't find it too sweet... more like an essence of flavor. The quality of the power is nice, no smell that I can really detect. Protein powder is expensive these days, but I found this one to be reasonable, especially since it is pure with no additives. I like to use it in plain unflavored yogurt.
