It will only be providing 3 amps.....will it overheat at that load in a sealed chamber?** A: It is too large and not designed to be installed inside a fixture. For that and for only 3A there are small power supplies that will never get hot and are also much cheaper than this one. **Q: Can one or more be paralleled to increase output current?** A: If you diode isolate the outputs and match voltages with a multimeter, you can parallel. Keep in mind there will a voltage drop across the diodes and they need to handle the full load amperage. **Q: Does fan always run, or only under heavy loads?** A: The fan doesn’t run when plugged in and I presume only comes on when the internal temperature reaches a preset value. **Q: Does this power supply need a minimum load?** A: I have a 500ohm resistor on it so it will always have a load on it just to be safe. Well when I tested it I just had my meter on the output voltage. It comes with a output voltage reading on the case so u can adjust ur output. But the sticker says about the input side but nothing about what is output. Just took a wild guess. I tested without load and it got up to 51.7v and with load it stayed at 50v. Make sure to check the volt switch. Works great.
