## Overview

The Aquapac Waterproof Insulin Pump Case (Small) is a lightweight, durable TPU case designed to protect insulin pumps from water, dust, and sand. It allows full operation of pump controls through the case, floats if dropped, and comes with an adjustable belt for hands-free use. Made in the UK with eco-friendly materials and backed by a 5-year warranty, it’s compatible with major insulin pump models and ideal for active lifestyles involving water exposure.

## Description

This case has two very different uses. It serves to waterproof insulin pumps. And also to waterproof small radio microphones. It’s made of a thin but remarkably tough material called TPU. Thin enough that you can operate all the controls normally through it. And it’s very light - only 105g including the belt. The TC sealing system seals quickly around the insulin pump tube or radio mic wire. We use a patented silicone-foam gasket in combination with unique 2-stage closures to ensure a fool-proof seal. Everything stays in one piece even when open. The TC clamp will seal around a wire or tube of up to 2.5mm/0.1in diameter. It also protects from dust, dirt and sand. There are two other case sizes you might want to look at: the Small Wire-Through Case 548, and the Connected Electronics Case 558. IMPORTANT NOTE: Aquapac commissioned research by Imperial College London into the use of its cases after receiving a large number of customer enquiries regarding their suitability for use with insulin pumps. Results show that, in some circumstances, insulin flow rate can be reduced by the case. In particular, low flow rates are impeded, and as such Aquapac can make no claim regarding the suitability of these cases with insulin pumps. Use of these cases with insulin pumps is entirely at the discretion of the user.Aquapac has been advised to recommend that users of Aquapac cases with insulin pumps regularly check their blood sugar levels. The tests were conducted by Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine using a Roche Accu-Check Spirit insulin pump at a temperature of 20C at flow rates of 2U/hr and 10U/hr. The amounts of insulin delivered over 60 minutes observed were as follows

Review: If you have a pump and are going on holiday - buy this - I went on holiday recently for the first time since I had my pump. I came across this product by chance, but I have to say, if you have an insulin pump then this is a must if you are planning on swimming or going to the beach. I did think before buying that it was a bit pricey for what it is, but it is a fantastic piece of kit. Two weeks of jumping in and out the pool as well as rolling around the beach with the kids, and my pump was perfectly protected. I didn't fancy having to take my pump on and off all the time, but with this, I just set temporary basals, popped my pump in the Aquapac and off I went. Not a single drop of water or sand came in contact with my pump the whole time I had it on. You can also operate the pump through the plastic bag, so don't have to take it off at all during the day. I clipped it at the front then put the pump bag bit either at my side or behind my back. It comes with a generous length of belt strap which is fully-adjustable. It didn't get in the way of my enjoyment at all, and I forgot I had it on apart from the first time I went down a flume with it at my back and managed to get a few scuffs on it. Next time I slid the Aquapac round to my side and problem was solved. I also used it in the shower while away, and would 100 per cent recommend this product. You can check out the Aquapac website, but I found even with postage, it was slightly cheaper here (As most things are!) If you are thinking about getting one, I would definitely say you should go ahead and do so - you won't be disappointed once you use it for the first time. Also found insulin delivery wasn't affected as far as I could tell, and my bloods were very good for most of the holiday. Back to the actual pump, I found that the silhouettes stayed on OK depending if they came into contact with sunscreen/sweat or depending how much I was jumping into the pool, but would suggest buying some sticking plasters to put over the entire sticky bit - that meant the cannula stayed in place perfectly, although I was left with a couple of strange rectangular non-tan marks! But a very small price to pay to be allowed the total freedom a non-pumper would have in regards to going swimming and to the beach. To conclude, I spent hours in the water with my two young kids, which I wouldn't have been able to do if I hadn't stumbled upon this amazing product, and not once was I concerned about my pump being at risk. BTW your pump provider should give you a spare pump to take as long as you contact them at least 4 weeks before you go, and I bought insurance for them both for less than a tenner for a month, which I have now cancelled, but had great peace of mind as they cost around £2.5K each. Google 'insulin pump insurer' as neither my travel insurance or home insurance would cover them while I was away.
Review: The case is good and does not allow water to pass into it, but there is a defect in the belt - It is a good bag on the one hand that does not allow water to pass through, but there are defects, and it is difficult to insert and remove the insulin pump. The second reason is that the belt is strong, and this is good, but it is very rough, and there is no way to reduce and enlarge it on both sides, but on one side. I hope the manufacturers of this bag make some adjustments

## Questions & Answers

**Q: The description says that there may be some flow rate problems. I was wondering if anyone has any experience of a reduced flow rate. Thanks**
A: We using it for my daughters insulin pump from medtronic and never faced any problems with it Even if she was wearing it for long times on the beach.

**Q: States ipx7 which is submersible for 5 secs, but reviews talk about swimming etc all day, which is correct?**
A: waterproof bag fantastic buy great on the beach and dessert no sand got in, worn whilts relaxing and going on the lazy river at the water park checked for any moisture inside afterwards none, taken off whilst actualy swimming, dosent look much for the money but wearing it gave me so much confident keep check BM's coleague wears one whilst wind surfing, would highly recommend this iteam as it gives you so much freedom lve my pump to much to submers

**Q: Hi there I was wondering if someone could provide the dimensions of the actual case itself and the length of the belt? I wear a Medtronic insulin pump**
A: Measurements as above: Pouch 23cm x 8cm Belt 1270cm long x40cm wide. My Accu-pump is a tightish fit and was completely dry on the one time I actually used the belt. I bought it to use in the shower but found it too cumbersome and fiddley: easier to just remove the pump for 20 minutes! Need to take care not to crush and restrict the canula in the powerful clamp. That said I think it's a great product for swimmers etc; just not necessary for an "oldie" non swimmer like me!

**Q: can my husband use it for an apomorphine pump and can you fully immerse in water for swimming for half an hour or so**
A: Hi, not sure about your pump specifically, but I've worn mine in a hot tub for about an hour with my insulin pump. It was fine, no signs of water. I contacted my pump manufacturer to ask if they thought it was ok before I tried. They said that as long as I changed the insulin after using it, that it would be fine. Basically the heat of the hot tub water can damage insulin. But if you're swimming in normal temperature pool, I'm sure that wouldn't apply. I hope that helps!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Happy with the product
*by K***T on 8 July 2026*

Arrived around a week after order. It came from an address abroad so I guess there could be issues if it needed returning. I have a Medtronic Minimed 780g and I ordered size ‘mini’ which fits perfectly. I was a bit worried about this as another review mentioned it didn’t fit although the measurements in the advert suggested it would. So very pleased it was a perfect fit. It only took my a couple of minutes to work out how to open and close with my Minimed inserted. I’m off to Cyprus soon with the grandchildren and looking forward to being able to swim without having to faff about taking my pump off. The strap looks sturdy and able to accommodate smaller and larger people. I’m not sure I will use it. I might just tuck the case in my swimming costume. Fingers crossed it doesn’t leak!! I have been considering pupping my pump in a bag, in the case 😂😂
