I think I tried to tighten it too quickly. When I put the 2nd set of strings on, I went slower, and they were fine. Review: Very bright clear tone - I play a Kanilea koa tenor which has a round, almost guitar-like sound. These strings give it a sparkle that I really like; fingerpicked melodies ring through a little more clearly, rhythmic strumming has more punch. With the clarity comes a need to be more precise; fumbles stand out more. For a uke like mine these strings are fabulous; for a thinner, brighter sounding uke they wouldn't be a good fit IMO. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ What a wonderful set of strings (just took a star, see note) *by C***Y on August 17, 2021* I was wondering why I had some flat spots in some of the chords in my ukulele, searched and found someone recommending the Sugar version of Aquila. I had to try these and also took advantage of having the strings off to lower the action replacing the bridge with a bone insert. Did not lowered it too much but just so that it will feel easier on the action. I am impressed be the clarity of the sound. Now I can feel the strings vibrate just as they are intended to produce the right sound and my ears are trilled by the sound. ADD NOTE: After a few months of having these AQUILA SUGAR strings, they have started to fray at the 2nd and third fret. I am worried about this, The sound has not changed and the running remains stable but I just do not like that there is little pieces of plastic fuzz coming out of the strings. I will contact the manufacturer and see if they have any information about this.
