A simple but effective locking system prevents the box from being opened by unauthorised persons or dogs. The red bait blocks are effective once the rodent has accepted the setup which can take a few days. I have always found this system to be effective against rats. I always continue to bait the box until no more is taken for a week, then check monthly. Rats are never far away and will revisit old runs in their constant search for food. I recommend this Roshield kit without any reservation. Unchecked rat populations are a serious threat to health.
