The end has a bung in it, it does not show up very well in the photo. Kind regards Home & Cosy **Q: what width M8 bolts** A: 8 mm **Q: Does it lock in the vertical position, I don't want it to come crashing down while I'm sat on the toilet when it's not in use!?** A: Bought this for my dad, and now my mum. It doesn’t lock in the up position, but it’s always left down now anyway. When up its own weight keeps it up as it leans back slightly. It is VERY heavy and has to be anchored firmly to the wall. We ended up using a bonding cement as well as extra long bolts as it came away from the wall the first time and pulled some plaster with it leaving quite a hole.
