The 40" cord is a perfect size for making an oversuzed throw blanket. The yarn glides easily from the cord to the needle and along the needle. The cord doesn't get "stuck" in the coiled position, even after months of storage; just pick it up and start knitting. So easy to use! I am used to working with straight needles and am on a learning curve of gripping the circular needles closer to the tip but I imagine by the time the blanket is done, I'll be comfortable using these shorter needle ends.
