The flexible PVC provides an extra, dual layer of protection above and beyond our already tough LED light strips. Ideal for heavy duty trucks, wreckers, tow trucks, emergency vehicle lighting, off-road machines, ATVs, side-by-sides, tool box compartments, vehicle storage bins, truck beds and heavy duty truck commercial applications. Also ideal for marine applications where the LEDs will be submerged in water for brief periods (although they are not marine grade). The fully encased, flexible design allows these strips to flex. The flexible PVC also protects the LEDs from a direct hit (e.g. rock, hammer, tool box, tire chains, etc) as well as allows them to be submersed in water or used in harsh outdoor conditions. They include a 36" power lead hard wired and sealed to one end of the strip. The power lead has 4 conductors; 3 positive leads (one for each diode in the tri-chip LED) and 1 negative/ground lead. Each Heavy Duty LED strip has a plastic end cap secured to the end with a screw hole allowing these strips to be screwed to the mounting surface for additional holding power. Each strip has industrial grade 3M VHB tape on the back. When mounted to virtually any smooth clean surface using 3M Adhesion Primer (NOT included), the LED strip will not fall off. The 3M VHB tape + 3M Adhesion Primer 94 creates an instant bond which cements the strip to the mounting surface. Review: Bright and Solid - These lights are as advertised being very bright and having a heavy duty casing. They also come with several pages of instructions based on general uses, not vehicle specific, but are very helpful. Also the 3M Adhesion Primer 94 IS included...which I wish was stated correctly so I didn't have to buy extra. When using the 3M Primer with the 3M Tape you get one shot at placement. Once stuck on, it's not moving at all, not even a little for adjustment. Only reason this is a 4 star is I wish the wire gauge was a little thicker so it was easier to work with.
