I had slight burn after a few uses so decided to stop immediately. I looked at a few natural items and saw this brand available on desertcart. I initially used the dark brown. It didn’t work well. I was getting orange colour on my grey hairs and only lasting a couple of days. I was about to give up but thought I would try the black dye. This has worked great with no irritation. With this product, it took some practice and trial and error to get things the way I wanted. I have a relatively short beard (number 6 on my Remington beard trimmer) and I colour it every 5 days. The leaflet provided does not explain.** A: Just asked my partner, he says you mix them together with a bit of water to make a paste thick enough for it to stick on your beard without it plopping off - bit thicker than hair dye. He also leaves it on about half an hour. Make sure you leave it on long enough as sometimes when he doesn’t it dyes the grey bits purple rather than black! I find it quite funny but him not so much 😁 **Q: Is it ok to get the dye on your skin? Will it stain your skin black?** A: Yes it doesn’t dye skin, although of course just put it on your beard. I’d also recommend trying one evening and experimenting how much you need and whether you need the base etc. Also use a little warm water not hot and mix the product. I’ve tried similar before after Just for M! JFM was horrible and burned me every time I used it. Also I suspect JFM and similar chemical dyes are carcinogenic so it was imperative I found a working solution. I had a few options 1) Go grey gracefully 2) Shave the beard off (I’m bald so I wouldn’t look great with that option!) the little bit of looks I did manage to rescue by growing a small neat beard many years ago would be hard to give up. So I consulted Grok and it suggested this Grizzly Mountain Dye. It made promises so I ordered and I used it today (Friday) Absolutely brilliant and I can tell already it works better than the other henna dye I tried. I didn’t bother with the base and to be honest I haven’t a clue what that’s for but it was just another step that I couldn’t be bothered with. I mixed in a small glass bowl a good heap of the powder and put in freshly boiled kettle water after letting it cool slightly first. Have that a good mix until about toothpaste consistency. I painted it on with the included brush and went and watch the snooker on TV for half an hour. This is where the magic happened. Grok told me to rinse with water only no soap no shampoo! A step I didn’t adhere to before. It wasn’t strong enough to remove all so then I got a hot face cloth and light mild soap and washed my face as you do. Then the greeny tinge got less and less. I realised previously I may have been harshly washing out the dye mixture with strong shampoos so it was great to see the green tinge left on the beard. It was pretty green and would be noticeable but I have noticed a few hours later it is starting to oxidise into a brilliant dark brown. I have to say guys, no cancer causing chemicals and a nice dark brown beard. It should oxidise further and the green tinge should fade but all in all I am absolutely delighted and I’m switching to this completely as a once a week ritual. That’s my tips as a born again henna / indigo user! I’ve picked up a few pointers so just remember don’t harshly washing with shampoo after the 30 mins, gently remove with warm water leaning over the bath and then finish with a hot face cloth and mild soap if required. Better to do it in the evening, it’s not an instant thing where you can do this and go straight to work as you will have the green tinge. I give 5 stars for this and I can now have a nice colour rather than grey without any health concerns.
