What's the best way to install it for maximum results?** A: 1.Remove & Clean: Take off interior panels; clean and dry surfaces 2.Cut to Fit: Pre-cut insulation for doors, floor, and roof 3.Apply & Seal: Peel, stick, then seal seams with foil tape (sold separately) 4.Reinstall: Replace all interior components **Q: What's the difference between Aluminum Foil and Closed-cell Foam? What are the best sound deadening solutions for sound?** A: 394mil Aluminum Foil excels in heat blocking. 157mil Closed-cell Foam (higher density) is better for soundproofing. For best results: combine 157mil foam with Butyl Sound Deadener (sold separately) to kill vibration and block noise effectively. **Q: How do I properly install the Butyl + 157mil High-Density Closed-cell Foam combination?** A: 1. Remove, Clean & Cut. 2. Apply butyl sheets(50–60% coverage is optimal), damping vibration, reducing low-frequency noise. 3. Install foam over butyl. Effectively blocks mid-high frequency noise. 4. Check. This combo ensures optimal noise reduction. **Q: How do sound deadening materials work to reduce noise? Can it reduce road noise? Can it be used on car doors?** A: Yes, Closed-cell Foam reduces road noise through:1.Sound absorption (energy to heat conversion) 2.Acoustic impedance reflection 3.Mass law blocking of mid-high frequencies. Its structure effectively reduces road/wind noise transmission into cabin. **Q: Does it require any special tools for the installation? Is a roller necessary?** A: Basic tools: gloves, utility knife, measuring tape. A roller (sold separately) is highly recommended to ensure proper adhesion of butyl/foam. Aluminum foil tape is essential for sealing seams. Keeping surfaces clean is crucial for optimal results. ## Frequently Bought Together - Aggsound Roll Pack Universal Sound Deadener for Cars Auto Sound Deadening Closed Cell Foam Noise Deadening Material-Heat Hood Shield Insulation Dampening Mat 197mil,18sqft - Siless 80 mil (2mm) 18 sqft (1.7 sqm) Car Sound Deadening mat - Butyl Automotive Sound Deadener - Noise Insulation and Vibration Dampening Material (18 sqft) - Car Sound Deadening Roller Metal Installation Tool 3 Pcs for Auto Noise Roller Car Sound Deadener Application Installation Tool Rolling Wheel Interior Accessories --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/659689216-car-sound-deadening-mat-197mil-18sqft-car-material](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/659689216-car-sound-deadening-mat-197mil-18sqft-car-material) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-24*
