This cutting chain saw file has fewer teeth per inch, which means filings will not be trapped. The consistent tooth height removes metal faster, more smoothly, and in more quantity than other files. This premium-quality file will stay sharper longer.

Review: Just as good as "Nichols" only you get 12 for the price of 1 or 2 - OK, chainsaw files don't last long. Good saw chains are HARD and will dull your file, no way around it. Getting 12 at once is great. These last as long as any I've ever used. I don't cut firewood professionally, but the only heat source we've had for 50 years is Fisher wood stoves, cutting windfalls and dead trees on our property. I get out a new file each fall and use it for that year. So they hold up as well as any, and are cheap enough to treat myself to a new one each year. The best way to hand-file a chain that I have found is to put the saw in a bucket handle down, so the bar sticks up. This makes it much easier to file into the tooth instead of down toward the bar. (The cutting surface is the top and side of the tooth; filing toward the bar doesn't help.) Tie a bit of string around the chain at the starting point, it won't hurt the bar or sprocket and it's easy to see where you started.

**Q: how many file's do you get?**
A: A dozen wasn't the best deal I found it cheaper to buy them at a saw shop files were ok tho

**Q: How long does a file last?**
A: I'd say a new 3/16 file would sharpen a 18" chain 6 times and a 36" chain 3 times.  Some people say it should last longer but they are cheap enough.   Why bother with dull files?

**Q: Is this file for a .325 pitch chain. i did not see any mention of the file pitch. i know it is 3/16 ths inch. thanks! i have a husk 350 with 18” bar.**
A: I use this file on my .325" pitch Stihl chains. It is technically true that pitch is independent of file size, but in practice, this is what Stihl recommends for their .325" pitch chain.

**Q: I'm i missing something? $17.00 for a single file. product weight is13.6 oz. seems like a misleading add. i was expecting a box not a single file. sad**
A: No a box of 12.

OK, chainsaw files don't last long. Good saw chains are HARD and will dull your file, no way around it. Getting 12 at once is great. These last as long as any I've ever used. The packaging could be better, box was torn on both ends but the chain saw files are awesome. I didn't realize how bad my old chain saw file was until using one of these new ones. it really help get the saw chain back up to super sharp and ready to cut wood again. wish I had purchased them a couple years ago.
