**Q: Does this have a padded base to protect the laptop from a small drop?**
A: This does not have the laptop touch the bottom. The bottom is also a bit layered so I think it would be fine.

**Q: This backpack came with no instructions or cord to charge it.  Now what.  This was a gift for my daughter**
A: You would need an external battery inside (the main compartment on the top) and connect it. Then, you can use your phone’s cable to connect it from the outside.
In other words, the backpack doesn’t charge your phone, you need to buy an external battery.

A: yes, this bag is very roomy and spacious to fit everything you want. Several days of clothes, one shoes and 1-2 laptop/ notebook. And the toiletry bag inno the main pocket is no problem. Perfect for your Travel accessories and electronic accessories

A: My son uses this for high school and it carries everything. this is one tuff back pack. Yes his 17' laptop fits in it and it repels water nicely.

This was bought for the last of my kids at secondary school....they always have a lot of heavy books to carry and.... rough and tumbles in the school hallways with friends usually meant ...out with the sewing kit or the purchasing of another school bag....I am very happy to report that this is a solid, comfortable, more than amply spacey...and most importantly for teenagers.... cool... bag to be seen with...
