**Q: What is the diameter of the base? I assume 21" is the top of the machine diameter**
A: Thanks for your question.  It's about 14 inches on the bottom.

**Q: What about voltage, it is will work 220 ?**
A: Thank you for your question.  The item is for 120V only.

**Q: Is the top glass heavy enough to keep cats out of the sand? Does it seal in some way so it can't be knocked off?**
A: Unless you have something other than an ordinary domesticated house cat I doubt it could lift the glass top off of this.  Although it doesn't seal, it does fit pretty snugly into the base.  And it weighs 3 pounds 8.5 ounces, so the cat would have to be pretty strong, and mighty determined, to pop off that glass top!  Can't say it's an impossibility, but if it happens you've probably got a prize winning cat on your hands...

**Q: If the cord is only 24" long, can I use an extension cord if I want to place this on my coffee table?**
A: The cord is way longer than 24". Must be 5-6 feet. Long enough for me place the drift on a coffee table and run the cord under the rug the table is on (via poking a hole in the rug) to a nearby outlet. There's also no reason not to use an extension cord is needed.
