Review: Perfect for behavioral cat issue - It absolutely does have the chemical odor which the manual clearly states. We pulled out all the pieces and let it air out and after 24 hours it was fine. My husband and I put it together in less than two hours. All parts went together well as long as we lined them up flush with each other. The directions were very easy to follow. Most photos show it having a floor of some kind but it is whatever the customer chose to use. It DOES NOT have a floor. We bought a cat mat from Sam's that fits perfectly. We were four "B" screws short so we used four "A" screws because there were plenty of them left over. Instead of using the silver brackets to attach a second enclosure as the instruction state, we used them to secure the vertical joinings. The hideaway box is too small for our cat to go in and turn around so we only put one up and left the other out so there would be a longer bench. All the shelves are sturdy as they have premade brackets that go under them. We did have issues with three or four of the screws simply turning in the holes, but we left them as is because our cat is not rough and we didn't see it being a problem. A small piece of toothpick in the hole first would probably help with that issue. there’s plenty of room for me to go inside to clean and scoop the litter box. Very happy with this purchase!

Had to add a 1x10 to the bottom to raise it up to window height for my house. Purchase a window cat door so they can go in and out on their own. Very convenient and my cats love it.. Adding the board at the bottom helped strengthen it. The quality is the same as every other Catio that I have see and I looked for a long time.
