Was apprehensive about purchasing this case due issues noted in other reviews. Had LifeProof Fre case prior - waterproof, but 100% encasement reduced camera and audio quality.Pros:1. Feels sturdier / more bend-resistant than LifeProof case. This is likely due to hard shell and slip cover combination. Will provide plenty of protection - especially since we have young kids at home.2. Great fit/finish and material quality. Material feels good to touch. No jagged edges. Fine port alignment except for the headphone/microphone (may be by design though).3. Screen protector doesn't feel flimsy/thin as noted in other reviews. No screen distortion (unlike LifeProof Fre). Touch operation is fine. No visibly discernible gap between protector and screen.4. TouchID is 100% reliable assuming finger is placed consistently.5. Case doesn't feel overly bulky - given high level of protection.Cons:1. Buttons work but need to be "pressed" (volume buttons tougher than than lock screen button).2. Many pros, and cons are not showstoppers. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Pros and Cons - some poor workmanship and design *by T***T on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on January 5, 2015* Well, this being my fourth otterbox defender case, I am actually quite disappointed. I decided to wait a few months before writing my review that way I could have a solid and honest opinion, now, I'll tell you why. For starters, the fitment of the case is so awful that I can see where my phone never sits center or flush in the device. If I shake the phone, I can feel it sliding in the case. The headphone port has a groove to fit larger headphone jacks but it doesn't even come close to lining up with the headphone jack on the phone. I actually laugh when I go to use haedphones and have to look at such poor craftsmanship. Secondly, I have dropped the device but two time in the past two months and there is already great amount of wear and tear on the silicone outer case. It is peeling and losing its quality. Another big one, dust protection. This case is all but dust proof or even dust resistant. There is always dust getting caked under the screen protector and it is quite annoying. As far as the touch id working with the case, it gave me a lot of trouble at first but once it got "broke in" it started to work 75% of the time. So, I'm still giving this case 3 stars. The case is still very protective and functional (for the most part). It has a great look and style that everyone knows as otterbox. This case is honestly amazing and I can't believe I waited so long to get one! I always worried these cases are too bulky - but the protection is absolutely worth it!! Your phone is REALLY protected!Pros:-built in screen protectors (which i was not aware of but LOVE!!)-covers for charger and headphones ports-unlike what other reviewers experienced, my phone reads my fingerprint easily (maybe the case has been improved since those reviews?)-also unlike what other reviewers experienced, I am able to press the volume and on/off button with very little effort-super easy to install-great case colorCons:-I cannot for the life of me access my control center without swiping my screen up like a mad woman 10+ times :( even that usually doesn't work-Typing is nearly impossible for about the first week - it gets better though.
