Giants are typically several stories tall, seem to have no intelligence, devour human beings and, worst of all, seem to do it for the pleasure rather than as a food source. A small percentage of humanity survived by enclosing themselves in a city protected by extremely high walls, even taller than the biggest of giants. Flash forward to the present and the city has not seen a giant in over 100 years. Teenage boy Eren and his foster sister Mikasa witness something horrific as the city walls are destroyed by a super giant that appears out of thin air. Review: Attack on Titan is Incredible - I love anime, but Attack on Titan was something I never thought I'd like, since I'm not big into action anime, but AoT is so much more, it is an EPIC series, and has the scale and scope of a lasting classic. The story is exciting, twisting, totally unique--I haven't seen anyone come close to copy this anime, AoT doesn't fit easily into any one genre. The animation is spectacular, just beautiful, every season is better. Highly recommended, the manga as well. AoT is also one of the best adaptations of a manga I've ever seen, makes the original content better in quite a few ways. The music is great, the Japanese voice acting is great, the story is great--I love it. The only downside is the English dubbing...kinda stinks. I don't tend to like dubs in general, but this one REALLY gets to me. Lots of voices that just don't fit, and overall the cast doesn't keep the gravity the original voices have. I understand why people want English dubs because you want to focus on the gorgeous animation, but I just can't stand the English cast, so I keep the subs.
