It ran 42 hours non-stop to drain our in-ground swimming pool through 150 feet of 5/8" diameter discharge hose. It would have drained faster if I had used 3/4", 1" or 1.5" diameter discharge hose but, time not being of the essence, I opted to use the existing 5/8" garden hose I already have. I also felt that the longer continual pumping time would be a good test of the pump's durability under greater back-pressure from the restricted flow of the smaller diameter hose. I was not disappointed with its performance. Lowered my pond that was overflowing very well (using 100 ft pool backwash hose).Lost a star because it would not pull suction in 2.5 to 3 inch deep flooded yard, and advertised to be good to 1.5 inches - had a little pressure to start filling the hose, but not enough suction to get much flow (put it in my pond afterwards to verify it was not clogged, and it was good)I like the screen because it will keep fish and stuff from getting sucked through.
