I looked in every store I could think of, and every mug was made in China. Then I found these mugs online and ordered them. They are smooth to the touch so that it feels good to hold them. The handles are perfect with plenty of space for the largest fingers. The finish, both the color and glaze, is absolutely beautiful. I like the fact that these mugs are stoneware because they hold the heat of my morning cup of coffee better than your average cheapo coffee cup does. And they're thick enough so the heat stays inside where it belongs instead of overheating the outside of the cup or the holder.I held off reviewing this for 6 months because from I've read some other people got defective mugs, but mine had zero defects and they still look great after 6 months of daily use.
