However, I have not used it direct to engine block. Based on my experience with its durability and epoxy’s reputation with engine builders I wouldn’t hesitate to use it. This paint has held up against brake fluid ,oil, antifreeze and transmission fluid. Make sure you clean with wax and grease remover before coating. **Q: I have a door panel that has surface rust. Primer and sealers are confusing. Can somemone tell me what primer and sealer to use bf painting?** A: You need to sand it down to get rid of any rust or it will come back and ruin your paint job. Primer is usually used over bare metal...primer/sealer locks down any body filler or putty, and prevents it from reacting with the new paint. You will be miserable if you get a paint reaction.
